Orchid Café’s New Buffet Experience at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel

The gourmet world of Bangkok always surprises foodies. While thinking what to eat in Asok area, the news that Orchid Cafe of Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel has been re-opened with an introduction of a totally new buffet experience (It was closed due to the protest in the past few months) immediately stimulates our appetite. When recalling all the epicurean pleasure I have had at their Sunday Jazzy Brunch, it is definitely difficult to not experience their new buffet dinner.

The dining environment of Orchid Cafe gives diners a sense of elegance and comfort. Its soft lighting and the live music from The Living Room further enhance the whole dining experience. Stepping into the spacious dining area of Orchid Cafe, you will be amazed at the colourful city view of Asok BTS station and Terminal 21 Shopping Mall. No noises from Sukhumvit Road will disturb your light-hearted dining mood. You feel as if you were totally cut off from your hectic city life. When you walk around the food counters, you will be excited to see so many different kinds of food arrayed in front of you. Your desire to eat and enjoy a perfect meal will grow even stronger. It is exactly this kind of dining ambience that will definitely bring you into a world of gourmet indulgence. At least, such environment has successfully capture my desire for a fine meal.

The new buffet dinner, designed by Chef Manachai Konkangplu, provides diners a feast of Thai and international hot and cold appetizers and desserts. A choice of six main courses, which include grilled meat, pasta, baked fish of the day and Thai main dishes, is available for diners to choose from. On the day of my visit, I tried nearly all kinds of appetizers and desserts available. It was such a satisfying experience!

Thai appetizers: We were impressed by the quality of all the Thai dishes, which were authentic and really yummy!

Middle Eastern dishes:

Cold cuts: the premium quality of the cold cuts will really make you crave for more!

Salad bar: So many choices of sauces available! Just love it!

Other hot dishes and vegetarian dishes: delicate consideration was made to cater different dietary preference of diners.

Desserts counter: you must try their homemade ice-cream. I totally fell in love with the flavour of passion fruit at first bite. It was smooth, creamy and full of aromatic aftertaste.

Fruit counter: local produce was sourced here, ensuring the freshness and the best taste of the fruits.

Main courses: On the day of our visit, I ordered grilled Australian rib eye with mushroom sauce, whipped potato and seasonal vegetable. The steak was tender and juicy, and the portion was quite big! Choices of main courses may change every day.

Despite the high quality, the most tempting pulling factor of this appetizers and desserts buffet, plus a choice of six main courses, is that it costs you only THB 980++. If you cannot eat that much, no worry, you can still enjoy the buffet without the main course at THB750++. Now, if you make online bookings via Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit website, you will receive a 30% off benefit based on the original price of Baht 750++.
