Not long ago, we have recommended a romantic dinner buffet at Medinii of The Continent. This dinner buffet is reasonably priced at THB 999++/person. Despite unlimited serving of pizzas and pasta, as well as free-flow wine (both red and white), beer, selected cocktails, and soft drinks, diners can order one main dish from a long list of choices.

This dinner buffet impressed us with its romantic dining ambience and outstanding, tasty made-to-order dishes. If you still remember or have already followed our recommendation to try the new dishes at Medinii, namely Fish Glue Seared Salmon & Seabass with Tomato Salsa Sauce and White wine and Chicken & Duck steak served with fried vegetables and red wine sauce, you may wonder how these two signature dishes are cooked. Although I am unable to solve your wonders, at least I know these signature dishes are created by the Executive Chef of The Continent – Chef Satjat Thongsrikaew.

Starting his career in 1991, Chef Satjar has already gained twenty-five years of culinary experience. When he started his career, Chef Satjar has worked mostly for 5-star hotels in Bangkok such as Plaza Athenee Bangkok, and Marriott Royal Riverside Hotel. His work experience in these hotels inspired his determination to be a successful chef. His profound enthusiasm in Italian cuisine was developed during the time when he was the Sous Chef of the main kitchen at Le Meridien Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort.

Prior to joining The Continent, Chef Satjar was the Executive Sous Chef at Bangkok Air Catering and Hansar Bangkok Hotel where his culinary skills have been complimented and recognized. Now as the head chef of The Continent, Chef Satjar continued to devote his passion in Italian cuisine to his career by constantly creating new dishes to surprise his diners. It is this kind of devotion that makes Chef Satjar another respectable chef in Bangkok! His endeavour and diligence have contributed to Medinii’s winning of the World Luxury Restaurant Awards 2016.
