Meliá Chiang Mai is introducing an international dinner buffet replete with tapas and pinchos, a live cooking station with gambas al ajillo and grilled river prawns to celebrate arguably the most exciting time of the week, Friday night.
Called ¡Es viernes!, the culinary experience is staged on the first and last Friday night of the month from 6-10 pm at the urban hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Laan Na Kitchen.
Designed to showcase a mix of Spanish, Mediterranean and international cuisine, the buffet’s drawcards include slow-cooked Moroccan spiced lamb shank served with a la minute steamed delicious couscous, olive oil, dried fruit, nuts, safflower and pickled lemon. Hot dishes include roasted spice-rubbed whole chicken with dried prunes, lamb kofta with tzatziki, and slow-roasted Australian beef tenderloin with a selection of flavoured mustards, gravy and blistered green chilli. In addition to imported Manchego and artisan cheeses and a selection of cold cuts including Ibérico ham (jamón), Spanish sausage (chorizo) and chicken ham, the buffet offers a healthy Mediterranean salad bar with a selection of Spanish olive oils, mixed olives and pickles.
The dinner is topped off with desserts such as homemade Spanish and Thai pastries and ice-creams. The buffet is THB 1,400 nett per person, THB 700 nett for children aged six to 12 years, and free for children aged five and younger. Two-hour free-flow package with house wine, draft beer and soft drinks is THB 1,000 nett per person. Prices are inclusive of 10% service charge and 7% government tax.
The hotel offers a “come four, pay three” promotion, meaning four guests can attend the buffet for the price of three guests if booked at least one week in advance with a non-refundable deposit. The next dinner buffet will be held on 26 August, 2 September, and 30 September 2022.
