Long Table has since its inception, established itself as Bangkok’s preeminent Thai restaurant and a unique venue transforming diner’s perception of the local cuisine. A must-visit for locals and visitors alike, the promise of an exhilarating dining and entertainment experience, overlooking the sparkling vista of Bangkok’s cityscape, has kept guests consistently coming back since 2009.
I vividly remember the very first time visiting Long Table in 2009 when Long Table was just inaugurated. It’s my number one hangout venue! The panoramic view of Asok just took my breath away! It’s the first successful rooftop restaurant and bar. I loved it and still love it. ~ Chelsea Chan
A pioneering hot spot, Long Table was created as the world’s first “Destination Thai Restaurant”, based around the awe-inspiring sight of the longest existing restaurant dining table anywhere to be found. The long table is more than just a mere decorative feature. It is a centrepiece where guests can enjoy their meal in a communal spirit. Communal dining is rarely associated with fine dining but Long Table breaks this misconception – as well as enhancing the perception of Thai food here in Bangkok to the level it has achieved around the world of being a highly sought after, delicious and stylish cuisine.
The sophisticated establishment delivers Thai inspired cuisine with a menu consisting of traditional dishes, offered with a creative and distinctive twist. Inventive and unexpected ingredients are combined with traditional ways of cooking, whilst incorporating a modern approach and innovative presentation. With dining just one part of Long Table’s appeal, the stunning, trendsetting interior plays its part in creating an environment perfect for the enjoyment of delicious cocktails and the widest selection of drinks, music spun by an array of progressive and sought-after DJs, and the best opportunity to sit back, relax and gaze out over the magnificent view.
With its location atop the 25th floor of Ratchada Road’s impressive Column Tower, the venue is complemented by an equally prominent bar and terrace that looks out onto a dazzling landscape of the Bangkok skyline, with Lake Ratchada at its base. This is the perfect spot for those interested in a casual visit, affording guests the best opportunity in the city to appreciate a spot of people watching, accompanied by a delightful selection of snacks and treats, from early evening until late at night.
Dinner Set Menu
Once called the ‘Destination Thai Restaurant’, I’ve tried the latest dinner set menu at Long Table. This dinner set menu is a taste of the most popular Thai dishes using quality produces and harvests sourced in Thailand.
Appetizers
Mix Prawn 2 Ways
Steamed prawn served with spicy coconut milk and lemongrass soup
and
Crispy prawn salad with green mango salad
The soup would have tasted better if a bit more lime juice was used to balance the thickness of the coconut milk. The prawn tasted fresh and bouncy. It was an appetizing starter for a Thai meal. The crispy prawn was best to eat with the green mango salad whose sauce was favoursome with a balanced flavour of sweetness, sourness and saltiness.
Main Course
Grilled Wagyu beef sirloin with sauteed spinach and mushroom served with creamy black pepper and bacon, mushroom sauce and fried onion ring
or
Grilled sea bass fillet with mixed vegetables and white wine sauce
I chose the Wagyu beef sirloin for the main course. The Wagyu beef sirloin was grilled just right leaving scrumptious, tender and juicy. The sauce added an extra layer of savoury flavour to the meat.
Desserts
Mango with sticky rice and fried mung beans
Mango with sticky rice is a traditional Thai dessert that both locals and foreigners love. Despite choosing the best mango for the dessert, the soul of this dessert was the coconut milk. Its moderate sweetness and saltiness added a delicious flavour to the sticky rice and mango. It’s lovely!
Long Table is open for drinks from 5 pm – 2 am each day. Dinner is served between the hours of 6 pm and 10.45 pm, although there is a snack menu available until 1.40 am.
