Mexicano has recentlyintroduced “Carlos’s Creation Menu”. It’s a genuine creation by Chef Carlos Bravo whose extensive knowledge of Mexico’s culinary traditions, informs and elevates every dish. A unique menu is to be carefully handcrafted by Chef Carlos each month using the most exotic and high-quality ingredients in each dish.
Carlos’s Creation Menu – April 2018
Carlos’s Creation Menu has kicked off in April 2018. We had a chance to experience the menu at Mexicano. It was a wonderful dining experience with authenticity in both taste and dining ambience. Live Mexican music added an enjoyable heat to the overall dining ambience, cocktails and shots of Tequila tasted even more enticing.
The April menu
There are five courses in the menu, each of which fully demonstrates Chef Carlos’s talent in presenting Mexico’s culinary traditions and culture proficiently.
(1) Camarone en aguachile y tartar de aguacate (Prawn aguachile with avocado tartar)
It’s a refreshing starter using fresh lime juice to enhance the taste of avocado and prawn. The combination of ingredients is traditional, this starter is a perfect soul food for Mexican cuisine lovers. It also wins the hearts of local Thai with its sweet-and-sourness.
(2) Gordita de Cochinita Pibill (Deep-fried corn cake filled with pork pibill)
The pork pibill was perfectly done to reach its unforgettable tenderness and juiciness. Contrasting with the corn cake, each bite of it was a joy to the palate.
(3) Huachinango con almejas y chorizo a la veracruzana (Red snapper with clams and chorizo Veracruz style)
Pan-seared red snapper was the star of the dish! We especially love the flavours the clams which makes the fresh harvest from the sea tastes even more flavoursome.
(4) Filete de res con mole negro y habanero (Imported beef tenderloin in black mole and habanero chili)
Melt-in-the-mouth beef tenderloin is scrumptious. The sauce, which was a little bit sweet, balanced the flavour of habanero chili. We love every bite of it.
(5) Torrija de Tres Leches (Tres leches cinnamon toast)
It’s a sweet ending to a wonderful dinner!
Mexicano’s cocktails are strong and very Mexican. Be prepared if you can be intoxicated easily.

Besides, she is also a pro buffet gourmet because of her unlimited appetite. When she says ‘too sweet’, it may not be sweet for you as her preference for chocolate is 72++ dark chocolate.
Neng Srichaisak ~ A pro golfer, travel lover and photographer Neng was born in Bangkok and is an enthusiastic photographer. Ever since joining the Gourmet Bangkok Team, he has developed an intense interest in food and food photography. He is good at searching the best angle for a dish. He likes spicy food and is able to tell the exotic spices used in Asian cuisine. He also acts as the Thai-Cantonese interpreter for Chelsea when reviewing restaurants in Bangkok. As he is a pro golfer, he reviews all golf courses for Gourmet International Team.
