Le Du Wine Bar and Restaurant – The Rising Star

Listed No. 37 of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant in 2017 and included as The Michelin Plate in the Michelin Guide of Bangkok 2018, Le Du is a rising star in the competitive dining scene in Bangkok. The name of the restaurant, as well as the presentation of each dish, suggest a heavy influence of French culinary techniques. You may be mistaken Le Du as a French restaurant at the first glance. The very first experience of your palate, however, will tell you otherwise. ‘Le Du’ derives from the Thai word for ‘season.’ It literally relates to Chef Ton’s manoeuvre of using seasonal Thai ingredients in his dishes. Le Du is the taste of Thai traditions in modern culinary art.

Le Du’s 7-course Tasting Menu Dining Experience

Thai flavour of each dish was distinguishable. Flavour of spices sparked surprises on the palate, it was a dining experience full of agreeable nods to the taste. Layers of flavours were clear and clean, we were able to tell exactly what seasonal spices and ingredients were in a dish. It was an amazement to discover how a few ingredients could compose such a delightful taste. For the main course, we could choose between beef, chicken and pork jowl. We highly recommend you try their pork jowl. This dish will redefine your perception of tenderness! It was an effortless cut and bite. It was a dish that I wouldn’t mind having every day.
