Legado has been awarded its first Michelin Star in the 2026 edition of the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland. This accolade marks an important milestone for Chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho and the Legado team. Legado opened in August 2025 and is Nieves’ second London restaurant, in partnership with JKS Restaurants, since the success of one Michelin-starred Sabor, which opened in 2018.

With more than two decades at the forefront of Spanish cuisine in London, Nieves is known for her joyful and energetic approach to showcasing some of her home country’s most iconic dishes. The opening of Legado has moved beyond the familiar, allowing a wider range of ingredients, lesser-known dishes, regional culinary traditions, and the Spanish artisans that Nieves adores to take centre stage.

Legado’s success demonstrates the dedication and commitment of its team, who deliver consistent, warm hospitality to the 82-cover venue.
Reflecting on this accolade, Nieves Barragán Mohacho has commented:
Legado receiving its first Michelin star is a great honour and source of pride for both myself and the entire team. It is a testament to their hard work and shared commitment to Spanish cuisine. Since arriving in London, my focus has always been to share the Spanish food and hospitality that raised me, and I’m excited by the way Legado has been doing that.
At Legado, acclaimed Chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho crafts her culinary “legacy,” a Michelin-starred vision honoring Spanish gastronomy through exceptional ingredients and heritage. This philosophy begins with in-house, whole-animal butchery, a mark of profound respect for farmers and provenance.
The menu is a testament to this mastery. Signature dishes like protected Lechazo lamb and suckling pig from an award-winning Segovian farm are slow-roasted in two magnificent, hand-built wood-fired ovens that form the restaurant’s heart. Prized 100% Iberian ham from Señorío de Montanera adds a personal touch from Nieves’s heritage, while the sea is represented by delicate Crystal Prawns and a daily grilled catch served with Galician Ajada sauce.

The design creates an immersive experience, with a vibrant Taberna leading to a theatrical dining room where the glowing ovens are always visible. This commitment to excellence extends to the 150-bin wine list, featuring iconic vintages, rare sherries from Bodegas Lustau, and artisan producers.
Every detail at Legado, from the bespoke cocktails to the contemporary interpretation of Spanish design, is meticulously curated to reflect Nieves’s life and career, offering a dining experience worthy of the highest culinary acclaim.
